01 Approach

Experience is not the same as measurable skill.

Most drivers with years behind the wheel have habits, not a baseline. This method begins with observation: a 90-minute assessment drive, scored against a fixed rubric, followed by a written debrief and two to four practice priorities.

Coaching stays narrow on purpose. We do not add a new topic until the current priority appears reliably in traffic. Each review uses the same rubric, so the conversation stays on behavior and evidence rather than opinion.

Rubric

Five behaviours scored on the observed drive

Every baseline assessment uses the same five rows, so a debrief from the first session lines up against one from month six. The instructor marks what was observed, then writes the target the driver is working toward.

Baseline rubric, 90 minute observed drive
Skill Observed gap Target behaviour Instructor note
Observation Mirror checks start after the brake, not before. Scan cycle completes 4 to 6 seconds before the manoeuvre. Habit first, speed later.
Hazard anticipation Reacts to the car ahead only. Names the next two risks aloud, in order. Commentary exposes this fast.
Vehicle control Brake pressure arrives in one step. Pressure builds and releases progressively. Smoothness shows from the passenger seat.
Position and lane discipline Lane changes begin without a shoulder check. Position set early, one check, one move. Late positioning hides intent.
Decision making Decides, then reconsiders mid-manoeuvre. One decision, taken at the last safe moment. Fewer options, cleaner outcomes.

Instructor note, sample debriefThe car was never in the wrong place. It arrived in the right place two seconds late. We set positioning first, then added speed.

Session loop

One loop, run again until the change holds

Every session follows the same four moves, in the same order. The structure is the point: you always know what is being observed, what was seen, and what you practise next.

  1. 01

    Briefing

We name the two behaviours under observation and the route that will expose them. Nothing is hidden for later.

    10 min · parked

  2. 02

    Observed drive

You drive; the instructor records rubric rows silently, timestamps the gaps, and does not coach mid-manoeuvre.

    45 min · mixed roads

  3. 03

    Debrief

Written notes, one page. What held, what slipped, and the two to four priorities that follow from it.

    20 min · seated

  4. 04

    Structured practice

Each priority becomes a repeatable exercise with a clear pass condition, so progress is measured rather than felt.

Instructor note The drive is the evidence, the debrief is the lesson. Between them there is no gap for guesswork.

Questions drivers ask before booking

Fit, pricing, and the limits of what a coaching assessment can honestly claim.

Still deciding? Write to contact@carpartsao.com or use the booking form.

Who are these sessions designed for?

Drivers who already hold a full licence and have at least two years of regular driving behind them, but still feel uncertain in specific situations: night driving, motorway merges, complicated junctions in Kyiv, or parking under pressure.

If you are still learning the basics of vehicle control, a standard driving school is the better starting point.

What happens during the 90-minute baseline assessment?

The instructor observes a route you would normally drive and stays quiet through the first part so your habits show up unedited. Afterwards you sit down with a written debrief: rubric categories scored against target behaviour, then two to four practice priorities you leave with.

How is pricing structured?

Prices are quoted in UAH and are indicative until confirmed in writing before your first session. The baseline assessment and each follow-up practice block are billed separately. No hidden fees, no automatic renewals, no countdown discounts.

Is this an official certification or licence service?

No. We are an independent driver development practice and are not affiliated with the Ukrainian government, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, or the Service Centers. Sessions do not issue licences or official certifications of any kind.

Can you guarantee a particular result?

No. The assessment is a coaching tool that shows where your habits diverge from a target behaviour. It is not an exam and it does not produce a pass or fail verdict. Individual results may vary.

Where do sessions take place, and how do I reschedule?

Sessions start in central Kyiv, with the meeting point agreed when you book. Rescheduling is arranged directly with your instructor by phone or email, and is simplest when you give as much notice as you can.
